Bringing Beat Markers from BeatEdit for Premiere Pro to Final Cut Pro X

Our customer Laurence Wiener recently asked us if there is a way to bring the beat markers of BeatEdit 2 for Premiere Pro to Final Cut Pro X. He finally found a workflow himself to import the Premiere Pro project including the beat markers to FCP X.

In case you want to do the same, here is his approach:

  1. Create beat markers in Premiere Pro as usual
  2. Export the Premiere Pro sequence to Final Cut XML (File->Export > Final Cut Pro XML)
  3. Use the tool Sent To X (available in the App Store) to convert the XML into a XML that can be imported by FCP X.

The resulting XML file retains all BeatEdit data.

Thanks a lot to Laurence, for sharing his workflow!
